We’ve supported full-service accountancy and advisory group Hayward Wright on its expansion into Yorkshire, following its merger with Leeds-based independent accountancy practice Auker Rhodes.
The transaction marks a significant milestone for Hayward Wright, representing its first move beyond the Midlands as part of its continued growth strategy. Over the past year, the group has experienced strong momentum, combining organic growth with a series of strategic acquisitions, including Wharfside Accountancy in Birmingham and Ansell Munden in Cannock.
A collaborative, multi-disciplinary approach
Our corporate team led the deal, with Mike Linford and Alicia Di Scenza guiding the transaction. They were supported by colleagues across our wider business services division, including James Monk (Employment) and Jessica O’Sullivan (Commercial Property).
By working closely with Hayward Wright throughout the process, we ensured a smooth transition and provided clear, commercially focused advice at every stage of the merger.
Strengthening regional presence and client offering
Founded in 2010, Auker Rhodes has built a strong reputation across Yorkshire, supporting owner-managed businesses, SMEs and private individuals. Through this merger, the firm becomes part of the Hayward Wright group, enhancing its ability to grow while maintaining its high standards of client service.
The combined business will benefit from greater access to technology, operational support, and a broader range of specialist services — strengthening its overall offering to clients across the region.
Built on strong relationships
Mike Linford, Head of our Corporate and Commercial team, said:
“Having known Alistair and the team at Hayward Wright for a number of years, it was a pleasure to work with them on this transaction as they expand their footprint beyond the Midlands. As our corporate team continues to grow at pace, this latest deal is another example of the strength of our offering, built on a relationship-driven approach.”
Alistair Hayward-Wright, Director and Head of Acquisitions at Hayward Wright, added:
“This is an exciting new chapter for the Hayward Wright group as we expand our footprint and presence beyond the Midlands and into Leeds and the wider Yorkshire region. Merging with like-minded practices across the UK is a key part of our strategic growth plan, and with the specialist legal guidance we receive, we are well-placed to continue scaling and creating exciting opportunities across the country.”
