William Talbot admitted as a solicitor and becomes the 1st of 6 generations of Talbots solicitors in Kidderminster
1919
Ellis Talbot buys 30 Church Street, Kidderminster and moves his family there to both live and practice law.
More than 100 years later, Talbots Law are still there!
1991
Martyn Morgan takes charge of Talbots Law with an office in Kidderminster and another in Stourbridge, so beginning the modern history of Talbots Law. Martyn wanted a different type of law firm, providing a memorable experience, not just expert legal advice. Although Martyn died in 2015, many of our innovations started with him, and we continue to be inspired by his vision.
2007
Always at the forefront of innovation, Talbots introduces a dedicated Client Care team, offering a friendly first point of contact for potential new clients.
2009
Talbots Law welcomes Tanfields and Dunham Brindley & Linn to the Talbots family, adding offices in Wolverhampton, Codsall and Dudley to their existing portfolio. With a total of five offices, and 120 staff Talbots now offer a full range of services for both commercial and individual clients. During this year the Company also introduces longer opening hours.
2013
Lumsdons in Stourport joins the Talbots family, along with their team of 10, including residential property expert Keith Yates, and Bryan Colley who introduces a personal injury legal service to Talbots for the first time – both are still with Talbots some 10 years later
2017
In 2017 Talbots moves from its office in Market Street in Stourbridge to new flagship offices at Remlane House in Hagley Road – all fully refurbished and redecorated. Staff are tasked to suggest a new name for the offices, and the building is renamed Morgan House by a majority vote.
2017
A makeover for our Kidderminster office, creating a better environment for staff and clients, including additional meeting space, a new welcoming reception, and the installation of the latest technology.
2018
In their first application to become recognisedas an employer of choice by Best Companies B-Heard’ Survey, Talbots are awarded a 1-star rating, raised to 2-star (outstanding) in 2020, subsequently retained each year.
2021
Talbots secure new offices in Edgbaston. The premises were previously operated by Seymour Luke, a conveyancing business with an excellent reputation. In acquiring a number of assets, including staff, Talbots takes the first step in its growth strategy, by establishing a full service offering in this new location.
2021
Talbots becomes an Employee Owned Company (EOT) in a major legal first for the region, and brings in new management team Dave Hodgetts and Andy Vigus
The move to place its staff at the heart of the business captures and protects the independent, innovative and passionate people culture of the company.
2022
Talbots opens new offices in Brierley Hill at the Waterfront Business Park. The new premises offer state of the art technology in bright and comfortable surroundings with ergonomic seating, LED lighting, air conditioning, etc.
The new offices provide plenty of room for the growing and expanding National Conveyancing and New Homes Teams.
2023
The acquisition of Coventry-based Sarginsons Law sees Talbots increasing its presence in the Midlands. Plans are in place to invest in the refurbishment of the city centre office on the Quadrant and build on the practice’s long-established local heritage. Talbots aims to grow the business generated by the Coventry office from £1m to £3m between now and 2025.
2023
Talbots acquires Wright Solicitors, based in Dudley and Bewdley, moving the staff at their Dudley office to the newly-refurbished Talbots offices at Inhedge House, whilst retaining and rebranding the Bewdley office. The move provides a big boost for Dudley’s regeneration and brings together two respected local firms.
2024
Wolverhampton firm, Dallow & Dallow amalgamated into Talbots. Sarah Hilton and Jane Cartwright join Talbots Codsall T&E Team
2024
In January 2024 Talbots were delighted to announce the acquisition of Scaiffs LLP in Worcester, bringing the total number of Talbots offices to 11. With expertise in Conveyancing and Personal Injury, the Worcester team extends the Talbots offering both geographically and departmentally, whilst giving Talbots the ability to extend all their services throughout the Worcester region.
