Talbots Law - London Paris Bike Ride
Talbots Law selected Birmingham Children's Hospital Charity as its Charity of the Year for 2018 and with nearly six months still to go we have already raised more than £23,000 towards our £30,000 overall goal. But we won’t be taking our foot off the pedal . . . literally!
Following on from our climbing team who will be scaling Snowdon on Saturday 21st July, Talbots Law’s next big event is the London-Paris Bike Ride in September, where we have a team of five intrepid cyclists taking part. Birmingham Children’s Hospital is a charity that's close to the heart for many of the staff at Talbots - our cycling team is no exception, and they have a steely determination to smash their £7,500 fundraising target to help such a fantastic cause.
Our Famous Five Cycling Heroes will be tackling a gruelling 300 miles, cycling from London to Paris in just four days and are already in serious training, all of them determined to make it to the finish line at the Eiffel Tower. Four out of our Famous Five are Talbots Law Directors Matt Wistow, Keith Yates, Callum Haynes, and Peter Hill, and our fifth member is Keith's son-in-law Steve Kenny. You can read more about all the team on our charity page by clicking here, or on the link below.
Their journey starts at Crystal Palace on Wednesday 5th September heading through Kent and along the North Downs Way before reaching the white cliffs of Dover, where they will board the ferry for Calais and their first night's rest. The following morning, the team leaves Calais, cycling through beautiful northern France, along the valley of the Canche river, reaching Abbeville for a well-earned overnight stop. Day 3 sees them leaving Abbeville, following the river Somme to Beauvais with its historic market square and 16th century buildings. Their final day of cycling sees the big push to Paris, but not before some more stunning countryside and lunch by the River Oise, followed by a rendezvous just north of Paris so that all participants can join together to cycle the last few miles along the boulevards of Paris to the Eiffel Tower. Our team has already raised more than half of their target sponsorship, but still need help to raise as much as they can to support the charity. If you would like to make a donation, no matter how little or how much, you can sponsor any or all of the team here or by clicking on the Donate Now! button to link directly with our Just Giving fundraising page.
