Melinda Rice

Melinda is an Associate in our Trusts & Estates team, and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.  Although she is based in our Halesowen office, Melinda is happy to travel to all offices to meet clients.

Melinda is originally from the suburbs of Dallas, Texas, and studied at Texas A&M University where she earned a BA in History and Sociology, and then taught American History for a while until she moved to the UK in 1997.

After her children started school, Melinda returned to studying, earning a BA in Law and Criminology from Sheffield Hallam University. She took  a job with a law firm in Birmingham and discovered a passion for Trusts & Estates work, working with that firm for nine years – three as a legal secretary and six as a fee earner.

Melinda completed her CILEx studies and is now a Fellow;  she has also completed her Legal Practice Course and LLM in Law with the University of Law. She is the current Vice Chair of the Birmingham & District Branch of CILEx.

Melinda  has four children and three grandchildren, and her favourite things are travel (especially to Italy and Cyprus), photography, rugby union (Leicester Tigers and England), Formula 1 and narrow boating.
