Janet Moreton

Janet is a Director in the Dispute Resolution department specialising in contentious matters. Janet acts for beneficiaries, executors, and trustees, as both claimants and defendants in court proceedings relating to disputed wills, probate, or trusts.

She is able to draw on her vast experience and expertise in both civil dispute resolution cases and disputed inheritance claims, and is a firm believer in “jaw-jaw” not “war-war”, encouraging mediation rather than court proceedings whenever possible. Janet provides practical advice and assistance in all areas of will disputes, including: disputed promises, mistakes in wills, removal or substitution of personal representatives, challenges to the validity of a will, disputes relating to Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection proceedings, and executors’ and trustees’ duties and disputes.

Janet is a member of ACTAPS (the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists).

Outside of work, Janet enjoys travel - both within the UK and further afield; she also enjoys long walks with her two dogs.
