Jason Washington is a Director & Solicitor in our Dispute Resolution Team, based in our Hanley office.
Jason is a solicitor with over 25 years’ experience advising businesses and individuals, and has a wide range of experience in resolving disputes, including commercial, contractual, civil injunctions, shareholder and partnership, professional negligence, property, construction, contentious trusts and probate, and defamation.
Jason represents clients in the High and County Courts, arbitrations and adjudications, and has wide experience of alternative dispute resolution, including mediation. Jason adopts a pragmatic approach and will advise clients on strategies and options to mitigate and resolve disputes at an early stage to avoid escalation where possible, and where that is not possible, how best to protect their interests.
His clients have included owner-managed businesses, multi-property landlords, social housing providers, national charities, high street financial institutions, insolvency practitioners, and high net worth individuals.
Cases Jason has dealt with have been referred to in academic texts including Bowstead & Reynolds on Agency, Chitty on Contracts, Emmet & Farrand on Title, Hewitt on Joint Ventures, Hollington on Shareholders’ Rights, Keating on Construction Contracts, Lindley & Banks on Partnership, and Palmer’s Company Law, and referred to in articles in legal journals including the New Law Journal, Business Law Review, and Corporate Rescue & Insolvency, and also referred to in both Practical Law and LexisNexis Practice Notes.
Jason is a member of the Professional Negligence Lawyers Association.
