Web & Software Developer – full-time – Stourbridge

Talbots’ case management system (“SOS Legal” from Solicitors Own Software) is the platform from which all of the Company’s legal services are provided.

The Company currently employs two full-time Software Developers to develop and maintain SOS. Our developers work closely with key people across the business to deliver software changes and improve the functionality of the system. This team is separate to our IT networks management which looks after the business’ hardware and connectivity provisions.

We are now looking for a new Developer to join this specialist team. The ideal candidate will have experience of web development technologies, integration projects and a sound background in coding.

Purpose and objective of the role

What we’re looking to achieve is two-fold: firstly, secure web-based communication between Talbots’ lawyers, professional contacts and our clients; and secondly, seamless integration between SOS and the web-based platforms that our legal teams use to support their work on a daily basis.

The successful candidate will start by learning about Talbots’ operations and legal service delivery and how the SOS system sits at the heart of this. Once this foundation knowledge is acquired they will design and deliver integrations with an array of third party providers and platforms such as the Land Registry, SDLT, TM Secure and other organisations.  They will also assist in the creation and launch of Talbots’ client portal, which will allow the business to communicate with our clients and other third parties securely and expediently.
