Clinical Negligence and Malpractice
- AuthorBryan Colley
A review into negligence at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust has now identified over 600 cases where children were left with brain damage, or in some cases died, due to clinical malpractice.
It's thought that the number could rise as more people come forward and there are already many legal cases being prepared as more people realise their families are affected by the scandal.
Our heartfelt sympathies go out to anyone that has been affected by this story.
Stories like this, while rare, do highlight the need for proper clinical monitoring, and where malpractice is found or standards drop, the correct compensation is awarded to the families involved.
Although this happened many years ago, it's important that if you are affected by it you ensure your voice is heard, and we would recommend you get legal advice as soon as possible.
Our medical negligence team know only too well that a medical error can be life-changing or even fatal. With many years of experience, and significant successes in pursuing medical negligence claims, we know that no-one wants to be in a position to need the kind of expert legal advice and help that we can offer – but if you do find yourself in that situation, contact Bryan Colley or call us on 0800 118 1500.
